It would appear that Tucker Carlson is about to throw caution to the wind in regard to his contract with Fox News.
On Friday, the Wall Street Journal dropped a bombshell report that will clearly shake up the cable news world.
Tucker Carlson apparently wants to start his own media company, and there are some big names being tossed into that conversation.
Break with Fox News
The first name being tossed around is Neil Patel, who already has a nice history with Tucker Carlson.
Patel helped found the Daily Caller, and he is allegedly going to get involved in any new media venture that Tucker Carlson takes on.
The venture will take a significant bankroll to get started, so, of course, there are also rumors that Elon Musk could be involved as the new network would incorporate Twitter into the game plan.
That ball already seems to be rolling, as Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino and Carlson producer Justin Wells recently had a sit-down meeting.
One of features of the new network would be incorporating Twitter videos into the TV show, as Carlson apparently wants to get completely away from YouTube on that front.
The new media company would emulate the model of what everyone else is doing right now, with a mix of free content, paid subscriptions, and multiple contributors.

I am really curious to see what Carlson would do for the subscription service, as he has hammered Fox Nation as a complete and utter joke.
Twitter views the opportunity as a chance to “expand the relationship between the platform and one of its highest-profile video creators, and serve as a test case for the social media network’s video ambitions under Elon Musk.”
Carlson is still under contract with Fox News, and the company has already filed a cease and desist order against Carlson, for the Twitter videos he has posted, but Carlson says will not stop posting, as is evident from this video only two weeks ago…

I would expect Carlson to turn up the heat on Fox News, as he surely would not launch any new media venture while still being under contract with Fox News.
At this point, I just don’t understand why Fox just does not cut him loose with no compensation… a deal I am sure Tucker would take just to be able to go out on his own.
