Vance Dismantles Media Narrative On FEMA Funding For Illegal Aliens

Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) destroyed the mainstream media’s narrative on the Biden-Harris administration’s allocation of FEMA funding for illegal aliens versus the victims of Hurricane Helene.

Reports indicate that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) spent at least $640 million on illegal aliens — though some reports indicate that FEMA-administered programs actually spent a whopping $1.4 billion on illegals since fall 2022. Meanwhile, FEMA has allocated just $20 million to help victims of Hurricane Helene.

The mainstream media has repeatedly tried to dismiss these claims in a desperate bid to defend the Biden-Harris administration, claiming that the money FEMA used to fund the resettlement of illegal aliens in the United States had come from a different “bucket of money” than the emergency funding allocated to help American citizens — but that narrative doesn’t hold up.

During a Monday appearance on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Vance unraveled the lies told by the mainstream media about FEMA funding — arguing that, regardless of what “bucket of money” the funds came out of, the Biden-Harris administration should have never been allowed to use these funds for non-Americans in the first place.

The discussion began when Fox News host Will Cain pointed out that there have been numerous “conflicting reports” and supposed confusion about whether FEMA — which has confirmed that it does not have enough money to last the remainder of hurricane season — could have used the illegal alien resettlement funds to help those impacted by Hurricane Helene.

“They’ll say, ‘Well there’s a bucket of money in FEMA that’s gone to illegal aliens and that’s somehow separate than the bucket of money that should —by right — go to Americans,’” Vance began, citing the media’s official talking point.

He then went on to highlight the Biden-Harris administration’s narrative that using American taxpayer funds from FEMA to help illegal aliens was not a slap in the face to the American people who are currently suffering, stating: “I think that misses the fundamental point, that the Biden-Harris administration has turned FEMA effectively into an agency that helps to settle, helps to deal with illegal immigration.”

Vance then argued that the most important point in this argument was the fact that FEMA had even been able to designate funds to help illegal aliens rather than American citizens, pointing out that the Biden-Harris administration should have never been allowed to use emergency funds to help people who shouldn’t even be in this country.

“That is just going to fundamentally distract focus from their core job of helping American citizens in their time of need,” he argued.
