When Fox News correspondent confronts the president over recent string of gaffes, Biden denies they ever happened

Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy confronted Joe Biden over a recent string of gaffes. Bizarrely, the president responded by claiming that none of the gaffes actually occurred.

White House aides have been working overtime recently to correct several alleged misstatements from Biden.

The Blaze compiled a list of three instances of the White House correcting Biden’s so-called misstatements, writing:

  • First, Biden appeared to tell American forces they were going to Ukraine. The White House said that was not true.
  • Second, Biden appeared to say the U.S. and NATO were prepared to use chemical weapons in Ukraine if Russia first used them. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, however, said the U.S. was not going to use chemical weapons.
  • Third, Biden appeared to call for regime change in Russia. The White House said that was not the official stance of the U.S. government.

While Biden was taking questions, Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked him if his repeated misstatements were sowing doubt among U.S. allies, referring to Biden’s declaration last year that “America is back.”

But Biden was apparently unaware that his comments were walked back by the White House.

“Are you worried that other leaders in the world are going to start to doubt that America is back if some of these big things that you say on the world stage keep getting walked back?” Doocy asked.

“What’s getting walked back?” Biden asked.

When Doocy reminded Biden of his past statements and about the White House’s corrections, Biden declared, “None of the three occurred.”

When Doocy pressed Biden further, the president claimed that what he had said had been misinterpreted and was missing context. Rather than telling the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division they were headed to Ukraine, Biden claimed he was speaking to Ukrainian soldiers in Poland.

Biden then affirmed that if Russia used chemical weapons in Ukraine it would “trigger a significant response,” but refused to provide details.

“I’m not going to tell you. Why would I tell you? You’ve got to be silly,” he told Doocy.

“The world wants to know,” Doocy pressed.

“The world wants to know a lot of things. I’m not telling them what the response would be, then Russia knows the response,” Biden replied.
