The death of Tyre Nichols has brought the activists out of the woodwork.
Last year, Joe Biden signed an executive order that was supposed to make big changes in local policing.
After this one incident, people are claiming nothing has changed.
Now they want answers and they want Joe to do more.
Silence is Golden
First and foremost, we really have no data on the impact of Joe’s executive order.
As far as Joe doing more, he seems content with letting Congress do its thing.
Biden stated, “Real and lasting change will only come if we take action to prevent tragedies like this from ever happening again.
“That is why I called on Congress to send the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act to my desk.
“When Senate Republicans blocked that bill, I signed an executive order that mandated stricter use of force standards and accountability provisions for federal law enforcement, as well as measures to strengthen accountability at the state and local level.”
That bill will never pass and Biden knows it.
There is no way the GOP will take away qualified immunity from police and open them up to personal lawsuits.
You do that, you will have mass walkouts all around the country, but then again, maybe that is what Biden wants.
