The leaked draft of a Supreme Court opinion on May 2nd triggered a significant protest by the bulk of left-wingers. This likewise shakes SCOTUS‘ stability over questionable judgments. With this, John Roberts, the United States Chief Justice, has announced an investigation into a leak revealing that the supreme court provisionally voted to reverse the landmark 1973 Roe v Wade case that legislated abortion across the country.
Lots of thought the leakage was an effort to weaken the court’s decision, though it’s quite apparent that somebody inside the SCOTUS dripped the Roe draft.
In a statement Roberts validated the credibility of the file written in February and stated: “To the extent this betrayal of the confidences of the court was intended to undermine the integrity of our operations, it will not succeed.”
Radical leftists believed they have a successful strategy, in fact, they are arranging intimidation campaigns against the justices, wishing to push them into altering their choice. As we forecasted, their awful program is backfiring. And it appears the justices are much more fixed in their choice.
Roberts included: “I have directed the marshal of the court to launch an investigation into the source of the leak.”
Chief Justice Roberts once again condemned the leaked draft, calling the move “absolutely appalling.” He had actually formerly knocked the leakage in a declaration launched today.
He went on to state that the leakage will in no other way modify the choice of the court. He called believing that it would, “just foolish.”
Here’s what Fox News reported:
The Supreme Court’s final decision will not be affected by leaks, the chief justice says.
Chief Justice John Roberts called the leak of a drafted court opinion overturning Roe v. Wade “absolutely appalling” in a talk Thursday. The justice went on to dismiss any question that the leak would affect the Supreme Court’s final decision…
“If the person behind it thinks that it will affect our work, that’s just foolish.”
The Patriot Journal commented even more:
Whoever is advising liberals these days needs to get fired. Because everything they do seems to blow up in their collective faces.
The Democrats, if they were behind this leak (and the subsequent intimidation campaign), were very foolish. And it’s hard to believe they didn’t, seeing that not one prominent Democrat has condemned the leak itself. Only Republicans seem to be angry about this break of our most sacred of institutions.
How did they not realize that leaking this document and inciting harassment would only harden the court’s resolve? Remember when activists threatened moderate Sen. Collins? They tried to intimidate her into not voting for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
But what really happened? She was outraged that activists thought they could bully her and she voted for the nominee. The same thing appears to be happening in this situation. The leak was a strategic overreach by the left.
It actually forced the court to stay true to its agenda; otherwise, it would look as if the court was bending to outside forces—something it can never do.
The outrage from Democrats only showed the country that the left is willing to fight and riot over a largely hated practice. They are even threatening justices, something that most Americans would never dream of.
This actually works in favor of the court overturning Roe. Had there been no leak, and the ruling came out normally, Democrats could have had time to prepare a counter-strategy.
But now, they have no ammunition to respond to the rule ruling when it comes out. They already expended their energy by throwing a temper tantrum over a draft opinion. They’ve lost all credibility and clout with Americans.
Whoever this leaker is, he actually helped the pro-life cause, not hurt it.
As of the moment, the source of the leak remains a mystery, but Edward Fallone, an associate professor at Marquette University Law School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, suggested a law clerk is most likely. “They tend to be younger and more passionate. I would assume other staff with access to draft opinions are a little more professional and discreet. But we just don’t know yet.”
