The United States has decided to make a resolute show of force as tensions continue to escalate in the Middle East. According to the Pentagon, over 17,200 military personnel from the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps have been deployed to the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.
This sends a clear message to our adversaries that America will protect its interests abroad at all costs.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III recently outlined several measures intended to raise America’s visibility in the Middle East. One such measure was redirecting the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group towards Central Command’s jurisdiction. This addition supplements the deployment of the USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group – one of Navy’s largest and most advanced nuclear aircraft carriers currently stationed in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.
On October 23, Pentagon spokesman Brig Gen Pat Ryder asserted that while no one wishes for conflict to escalate, U.S forces will not hesitate to protect their interests abroad if necessary.
According to CNN reports, this deployment comprises 6,000 sailors aboard the USS Ford, another 6,000 within both carrier strike groups, 4,000 sailors and marines within Bataan amphibious ready group and 1,200 extra troops sent to join forces with those already present in region – bringing total troop numbers up to 17,200 strong combined navy/marine personnel.
Just recently, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that one of their Ohio-class submarines had arrived in its area of responsibility (AOR).
