Death has long been an enigma, shrouded in mystery and fear.
Recent social media trends have shed some light on the subject however, with those who work closely with the dying revealing a remarkable consistency among their patients’ experiences.
According to Julie McFadden, a dedicated Los Angeles hospice nurse of five years, her patient’s visions of the afterlife often include familiar faces that bring them peace in their final moments.
Julie McFadden is one of many nurses working diligently out of the City of Angels to provide comfort and care to those grappling with terminal illnesses.
She observes that many of her patients experience visions of deceased loved ones as they approach death’s threshold – these spiritual encounters offer counsel and consolation while preparing them for their transition.
Her observations have led to an impressive 1.2 million followers on TikTok and twelve million likes for her content on mortality.
Despite the frequency of these apparitions during such critical moments, medical professionals remain at a loss to fully explain this phenomenon.
McFadden posits that these visions often begin as early as one month before death manifesting in dreams or during wakeful hours – leading patients to physically perceive these spectres from their past.
These visions are reported by McFadden’s patients as being “functional and logical” which lends them authenticity difficult to dismiss entirely, though she admits they can be scary for people not expecting or understanding it.
She also insists there is no evidence suggesting any impending infernal fate or demonic presence in the afterlife – rather a transition into peace, love and reunion.
McFadden’s stories bring solace to those confronting mortality regardless if it is their own demise or that of another person, providing comfort against fears about passing away by debunking false notions surrounding death.
