Radical leftist New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is facing a serious GOP challenger who has just landed lots of ‘blue’ support.

AOC’s Republican rival, Desi Cuellar, has just come forward with a bold proposal — a federal death penalty for convicted cop killers — and he is getting a lot of support from the NYPD, and anyone who backs the blue.

Cuellar, an Army National guardsman and descendant of Cuban refugees, has taken a strong stance against Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s socialist policies. Knowing that his family fled Cuba under Castro’s socialist regime, he and other Cuban-Americans have a strong opposition to Democrats trying to force America onto the same path.

As part of his fight to fix New York, and to beat AOC in the congressional race, Cuellar is proposing policies to fight back against the crime epidemic, and the war on cops.

According to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, 2021 was the “deadliest year for law enforcement officers in history.”

Cuellar’s plan comes amid an alarming “war on police” throughout the United States, with at least six officers killed in the line of duty across the country since the start of 2022, including two officers who were murdered while responding to a domestic dispute in New York City on January 21st.

The GOP congressional candidate spoke out about the growing violence against police officers in recent interview with Fox News Digital.

“What breaks my heart the most is that officers like Jason Rivera and Wilbert Mora are heroes — everybody says that, nobody has a problem saying that,” Cuellar said, referring to the two slain officers. “But it is a shame that our brave men and women who risk their lives every day to protect us have to die before we look at them or refer to them as heroes.”

“The blood of these officers is on the hands of these spineless politicians like AOC, or anybody on city council, or even the mayor right now, unless he does something about it,” he added, referring to newly elected NYC Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat who so far appears to offer only lip service amid soaring violent crime in the city.

“Nobody in politics on the left cares about holding back the criminals, all they care about is holding back the police,” Cuellar continued.

“The problem we face today is that the mindset of the modern criminal is one that understands that they will not face severe consequences for their violent actions,” he said. “And honestly, it feels like we are getting a lack of action on this crisis from both sides of the aisle. Everyone needs to wake up.”
