CNN Commentator: Walz Will Be Kamala’s ‘Emotional Support Animal’

CNN Roasts Kamala and Walz in BIG Way

CNN commentator Scott Jennings ruthlessly mocked Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday for needing her “emotional support animal,” vice-presidential candidate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), to join her in her first interview.

Harris has finally agreed to do her first interview since President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 race and endorsed her as his replacement — but not without Walz. After more than a month without a single unscripted appearance, Harris made sure her first interview will be as easy as possible — choosing Democrat-friendly CNN to air it, far-left anchor Dana Bash to host it, Walz to sit in with her to save her from herself, and requiring a pre-taped interview that will likely be edited in her favor.

During an on-air segment with CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, Jennings mocked Harris for lacking confidence to face the interview on her own.

Cooper asked: “Scott, it’s the first time the vice president going to be sitting down for an interview. She’s doing it with her vice-presidential candidate, Tim Walz. Do you think that blunts attacks from Republicans or is the line now going to be, well, why isn’t she doing it by yourself?”

“Yes, I do think people are going to bring that up,” Jennings responded. “Look, I have great confidence in Dana and CNN to do this. I think it’s incredibly weak, weak sauce to show up with your running mate. The fact that they don’t have enough confidence in her to let her sit herself the actual top of the ticket and do a single interview.”

He went on to point out that Harris’ continued avoidance of unscripted appearances over the last month are clear signs of a “lack of confidence in her political ability” — which is a bad sign for voters.

“In fact, I think the handwringing and the gyrations over this over the last month show troubling lack of confidence in her political ability, which also makes you wonder as a voter, well, what kind of president would you be if this kind of a small time decision can we do an interview or not — what does that look like for your decision-making process and so on?” Jennings explained.

“So yes, I think Republicans are going to think it’s pretty weak to show up with effectively someone to take up half the time,” he added.

Jennings later shared the clip of his comments on X, where he mocked Harris for needing Walz, who he called her “emotional support animal,” to sit in on the interview.

The CNN commentator also made the same comment during a different segment on CNN, declaring: “The reality is, she hasn’t answered a single hard question, and now they finally signed up for some, and she’s got to bring along an emotional support animal at the same time.”
