Vice President Kamala Harris is being called out for debuting a hilarious new fake accent during a campaign stop in Michigan.
Democrats have a long, hilarious history of pandering by attempting to use fake accents to trick voters into thinking that they are just like them. Many Democrats who attempt this are on the older side — like twice-failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, whose fake southern accent was widely mocked — as they remember a time before the internet was widely available, when it was possible to use a different accent at every campaign stop without getting caught. However, there have been plenty of examples of young Democrats putting on fake accents as well.

Harris displayed her latest fake accent during a campaign stop on Labor Day in Detroit, Michigan, where she appeared to be trying to sound “ghetto,” according to commentators.
“You betta thank a union member for sick leave! You betta thank a union member for paid leave! You betta thank a union member for vacation time!” the vice president said, putting on a clearly fake accent.
“Kamala Harris just brought back the ‘Detroit speak,’” the popular X account Johnny MAGA wrote. “So freaking cringe and fake.”

This is far from the first time that Harris attempted to use a fake accent to pander to Democrat voters, as she previously used a fake southern accent during a July campaign stop in Georgia — prompting widespread mockery on social media once again.

Harris also unveiled another weird, southern-ish accent during one of her infamous “word salads” at another campaign stop in Detroit in August.
“You know the one thing about all of us is we like hard work. Hard work is good work. Hard work is good work,” she said, with an audible twang in her voice.
“The thing that we like about hard work is we have fun doing hard work,” Harris added.
