After eight months worth of an investigation into Hunter Biden, Matt Republican Congressman Gaetz has grown impatient and had enough. On September 19, he took to the online world of X aka Twitter to publicly challenge House Speaker Kevin McCarthy regarding his alleged inaction related to the matter at hand. As a way to push things forward, Gaetz drafted a subpoena for Hunter Biden that only requires McCarthy’s signature and date before it’ allowed to be enacted.
This move reflects an increasingly widening rift between Republicans over how to deal with the Biden family.
.@SpeakerMcCarthy, after eight months of inaction, I have taken the liberty of drafting a subpoena to Hunter Biden.
It simply requires your date and signature.

In response to this prolonged period of what he perceives as stalling from McCarthy, Gaetz drafted a subpoena demanding a comprehensive list of documents and communications ranging from emails between Joe and Hunter Biden dating back to January 2008, phone call records, contracts, agreements and financial records connected with domestic and foreign business partnerships as well as requiring Hunter’s appearance before the House Judiciary Committee at a specified time.
It’s clear that Gaetz is taking matters into his own hands by pushing for action on this issue while also sending a signal out to American citizens that he won’t stand idly by while justice is delayed any longer.
On this very floor in January, the whole world witnessed a historic contest for House Speaker.
I rise today to serve notice. Mr. Speaker, you are out of compliance with the agreement that allowed you to assume this role. The path forward for the House of Representatives is to… pic.twitter.com/1IFsrmT8KK

The tensions within the Republican party are mounting in relation to the Biden family investigation; many agree that there needs to be some form of accountability brought about through rigorous inquiry into Joe Biden’s involvement in possible misconduct during his presidency.
Recently on the floor of Congress, Rep. Gaetz directly addressed McCarthy claiming “you are out of compliance with the agreement that allowed you to assume this role” citing issues like failing term limits resolutions, unbalanced budgets and lack of release tapes related Jan 6th events along with not holding Bidens accountable for their actions yet another one on top of them all being what he claimed was Joe converting vice presidency into “an ATM machine”.
He urged leadership for quicker movement towards resolution or else Democrats might come save them from themselves if nothing happens before September 30th deadline – implying if they don’t act now it will be too late when election season comes around.
The message here is clear: Matt Gaetz is calling out Kevin McCarthy for not living up to his word and seeking accountability.
