NBC SLAMMED For Concealing the Truth

NBC News facing backlash after bodycam footage of the October attack on Paul Pelosi was released. The video quickly answered questions about the outlets reporting by correspondent Miguel Almaguer that was strangely retracted last year.

Almaguer reported that the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, might not have been in immediate danger when police arrived at the speaker’s San Francisco home.

The report went viral but NBC quickly retracted the story with little explanation. Afterward, the network refused to explain what the veteran reporter got wrong. Due to the incredibly bizarre way NBC handled the situation caused speculation amongst other media sites.

On Friday police released bodycam footage from the incident. The video was supposed to clear things up, but many people claim the footage vindicates Almaguer as well as it doesn’t.

“NBC just needed to be transparent,” Joe Concha, a Fox News Contributor, said.

Curtis Houck, the managing editor at NewsBusters says that Almaguer deserves an apology from his own network. He also wants a public explanation of why the story was pulled.

“NBC News failed to provide any explanation whatsoever for why they not only suspended Almaguer, but whether any producers were suspended as well as what specifically in his reporting on the incident neglected to meet their standards and practices,” he said in an interview with Fox News Digital.

“The video at least partially vindicated his reporting and made NBC’s evasive behavior and attempt to sweep Almaguer’s reporting and suspension under the rug even more disconcerting.” Houck Continued.

“For a profession with transparency as a cornerstone, NBC News has failed to practice what is preached. A simple statement that a retracted and deleted story didn’t meet your ethical standards was utter nonsense and the video release gave us a reminder of that. If they expected the public to move on, they were mistaken,” he added.
