House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is finally gone as House Speaker.
However, she made sure she got one final stab at the American people before leaving office.
Pelosi gave House staffers a significant raise on the way out the door.

On Friday, Pelosi issued a new directive that will enable House staffers to make as much as $212,000.
That is actually more than the salary of members of Congress.
When you add in all the little perks they also get, this is utterly ridiculous and a slap in the face to the average American.
This is the second time that Pelosi has given House staffers a boost.
Since the beginning of the year, the salary cap has gone from $199,300 to $203,700 to $212,100.
Pelosi, in defending the move, stated, “As you know, our hard-working, patriotic congressional staffers are integral to the functioning of the House of Representatives.
“To that end, we must do all we can to retain and recruit the best talent in our nation — and to build a congressional workforce that reflects the communities we are honored to serve.”
