Sadly, in the West many Christian leaders are falling into the cult of Wokism. Whether that lies within the fear of Covid, or the redefining of biblical justice to a mob mentality of Cancel Culture, and social justice.

Whatever the reasoning is, the truth remains the same: Christian leaders are sacrificing the truth of God’s word to appease man. This mentality is a direct disregard to God’s commands for His people.

The fear of man brings a snare,
But he who trusts in the Lord will be exalted.
Proverbs 29: 25

Those few religious leaders who are standing up to the woke mob need to be heard and supported.

The Christian Leaders We Need to Hear Out

First is Archbishop José H. Gomez is the president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. According to the Washington Examiner in a virtual conference with the Congress of Catholics and Public Life in Madrid, Archbishop Gomez spoke out against “America’s new political religions” like “social justice,” “wokeness,” “identity politics” and “intersectionality” had “come to fill the space that Christian belief and practice once occupied.”

A passionate appeal especially after President Biden, the second Catholic President in American History, visited the Pope earlier this month. His views on abortion and the woke ideologies of his party are under much scrutiny due to their opposition to traditional catholic and Christian teachings.

As much as the Archbishop’s chastisement is needed a more vocal teacher who has deftly explained the intricacies of the Woke religion and how it opposes the word of God can be found. Mark Driscoll is a preacher in Scottsdale Arizona and has had no qualms going after the woke cult.

In many sermons, he has taken on the ideologies of America’s Secular Culture and pushed back with a deep understanding of scripture. His approach to the subject is that of a father willingly standing up to the threat of his family but welcoming any who would turn away from the lies of society and accept the truth of God’s word. He is a combination of a gentle father with the fierceness of a Shephard protecting his flock from false teaching.

One who is adept at teaching the bible in such a way that confronts modern-day society is that of Bro. Sam DeVille. A Baptist Preacher from East Texas Bro. Sam isn’t afraid to speak truth to his growing church. His focus is less on wokeness and far more on the truth of scripture. He illustrates a firm understanding of the times we live in and his teaching helps christians understand the word and how to apply it in our current world.

Deeply passionate about the word of God, Bro. Sam’s teachings are also influenced by his love of God’s people. He is zealous in his pursuit of teaching the gospel to all who will hear. His emphasis on prayer to battle the evils of today is Holy Spirit inspired. For he knows the truth of God’s word and that prayer is not a simple conversation with our Lord but is the preparation of Battle.

What We Need More of is Truth

The fact of the matter is that more churches are dying out because they are not teaching the truth. God’s people need to fall on their knees for repentance of idol worship and comfort-seeking and remember the scripture of Jesus Christ. He did not die on the cross for the world to be comfortable wallowing in its sin. No, He came and died and rose again so that eyes would be open and souls would be saved from the putrid muck of sin we mire ourselves in.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.  For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.”

John 3; 16-17
