Texas Governor Greg Abbott may be a squish on some things, but protecting children isn’t one of them. A lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union, the ACLU of Texas, and Lambda Legal are going after Abbott for questioning the practices of gender reassignment on minors.

Texas Governor Lays It Down
A letter released by Abbott in February directed the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) to investigate sex change procedures that would be considered child abuse under Texas law.
The letter read:
“[I]t is already against the law to subject Texas children to a wide variety of elective procedures for gender transitioning, including reassignment surgeries that can cause sterilization, mastectomies, removals of otherwise healthy body parts, and administration of puberty-blocking drugs or supraphysiologic doses of testosterone or estrogen.”
The move by Texas Children’s Hospital comes after Gov. Greg Abbott’s directive — and it has left families in the state scrambling, trans advocates say.https://t.co/uuirTH7qQI

“Texas law imposes reporting requirements upon all licensed professionals who have direct contact with children who may be subject to such abuse, including doctors, nurses, and teachers, and provides criminal penalties for failure to report such child abuse,” he continued. “There are similar reporting requirements and criminal penalties for members of the general public.”
“Texas law also imposes a duty on DFPS to investigate the parents of a child who is subjected to these abusive gender-transitioning procedures, and on other state agencies to investigate licensed facilities where such procedures may occur.”
The ACLU Has Something To Say
The American Civil Liberties Union, the ACLU of Texas, and Lambda Legal have filed a lawsuit against Governor Abbott on the behalf of parents Jane and John Doe. The case is over their daughter Mary Doe who is a 16-year-old transgender girl.
Jane Doe also happens to be an employee of the DFPS. She has been put on leave while the family is under investigation by the DFPS for child abuse.
The lawsuit indicates that “Governor Abbott’s letter instructing DFPS to investigate the families of transgender children is entirely without Constitutional or statutory authority; and despite this, the Commissioner nonetheless issued a statement directing DFPS to carry out the Governor’s wishes and agreeing to follow a nonbinding legal opinion that did not change Texas law.”
After Governor Greg Abbott called medical care for trans children “child abuse,” Texas families weighed their options. “Where are we going to go?” one mom said. “What’s our first stop, second stop, if someone’s going to come and try to take my child?” https://t.co/ygkFwVcxVv

Dr. Megan Mooney is also a plaintiff in the suit. Dr. Mooney is a phycologist with multiple transgender patients, “many of whom have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria and are receiving treatment for this condition.”
The Lawsuit states that “the Governor’s directive and DFPS implementation have placed Dr. Mooney in an untenable situation,” noting that if she “fails to report her clients who receive gender-affirming care, she faces the prospect of civil and criminal penalties, the loss of her license, and other severe consequences.”
It continues with “if she does follow the Governor’s letter and DFPS’ erroneous reliance on it, she faces even more damaging personal and professional consequences,” stating that “Dr. Mooney would be violating her professional standards of ethics and inflict serious harm and trauma on her clients.”
Transgenderism At Its Core
Let us be clear here, Transgenderism is a mental health issue stemming from body dysphoria usually caused by some traumatic event or sexual abuse.
Today some may even be claiming to be transgender due to it being popular, or to get into the opposites sex’s assigned areas, like locker rooms and bathrooms. Giving those who actually suffer from body dysphoria a bad name.
. @WhitlockJason: "America is a smorgasbord of lies. White lies. Black lies. Brown lies. Gender lies. Political lies. Racial lies. The lies make chaos and division inevitable. Our fear and reluctance to confront and combat these lies doom this nation."https://t.co/TOessZD54l

In today’s society, we have coalesced around one treatment for those who suffer from a disassociation with their own sex. It is instantly to put them on drugs and hormone therapies that would irrevocably change their body. Many of those who go one such medication have not been properly informed of the consequences.
Minors still are growing both physically and mentally. Hormones are developing and leveling out in the human body during the teenage years, procedures like gender reassignment, hormone therapy, and puberty blockers can do irrevocable damage to the body, especially one that is still developing.
So the ACLU wants to have the right to castrate little boys and chop off body parts of both little girls and boys. These are mentally sick people.

It is one thing to go through such procedures when you have tried every other alternative first, such as long term therapy addressing the underlying issues of the mental cause for the disassociation, blood work to check for any imbalances in hormones, or vitamin/mineral deficiencies that can be treated to get back to their natural requirements, and addressing any family or environmental issues that may be causing stress that induces. the dysphoria.
A sex change procedure should be the last resort, not the acceptable go-to, and should be done on fully consenting adults who have been informed of all the consequences of such change.
