In the Era of Covid, Governments and businesses alike, are issuing vaccination and testing mandates. The question Christians face is: WWJD– What would Jesus do- in the face of such tyranny?
It would seem on Social Media that much of Christendom is divided on this issue. Progressive churches and leaders push their congregants to get the vaccine or be barred from church attendance, but there is strong pushback from traditionally conservative sides of Christianity. These leaders leave the choice to their congregation and open the doors of their church for all.

WWJD Really?
Thankfully, we don’t have to make-up or seek blindly for answers on this subject because the Bible has the teachings of Jesus, conveniently written in red, for anyone who is looking.
In Luke 20:25 Jesus plainly states “give back to Cesar what is Cesar’s and God what is God’s.” Cesar, of course, meaning the government. While there is no verse that specifically talks about Covid vaccinations or pandemic, there are plenty that indicates what belongs to government versus what belongs to God.

What Does Belong to God?
In the very first chapter of the Bible, we see the creation of God. A master craftsman He weaves together light and darkness, water and land, plant and animal. He creates a utopia but His masterpiece is Man and Woman, and He even states that we are created in His image!
In the book of Pslams God writes a love song to His creation. He gives us the comfort of knowing He is there even at our smallest and most vulnerable stage of development.
For it was You who created my inward parts;
You knit me together in my mother’s womb
Psalm 139:13
The simple fact of scripture is that our bodies, minds, and souls are not the property of any government or business because we belong solely to the one who formed them: God.
God blesses us with the gift of free will. Allowing, with informed consent, for His creation to make decisions on their own. This allows the individual to decide what is best for him or herself. If vaccination is what one wants they are freely able to make that choice. If one decides that the jab is not to their liking they are free to say no.
While money is stamped with the images of man our bodies are the perfect product of intelligent design and must be respected as such.
When your “choice” is between “do what we say” or “suffer the consequences,” it’s not called a choice. It’s called an ultimatum, and when it’s given by a government, it’s called tyranny.
