Most people thought that Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-WI) was a lock to run against Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) in the 2024 race.
He is widely popular and surely would have given her a run for her money.
Unfortunately, Tiffany announced that he is not interested in taking that seat.
Not Happening
Baldwin will be looking to lock in her third term in 2014.
She had a pretty convincing win in 2018, taking her seat by an 11-point spread, but Wisconsin has been moving a bit more conservative recently with all the nonsense Democrats are trying to pull.
If there was a time to pull off the upset, this would be it.
However, it appears that Tiffany is quite comfortable in his current seat where he knows he is all but guaranteed a win.
Tiffany does believe Baldwin can be beaten, however.
He stated, “If we stay focused on the issues, I believe she is beatable.
“I don’t pretend, it is not going to be easy.”
With no big-name recognition, I don’t see how we take that seat.
With Tiffany out of this race, and no big names interested, this could be an even bigger win for Baldwin.
So, the GOP has gone from tagging this is a possible flip to handing Democrats a locked seat unless they can convince a big name to get into this race and take her on.
