Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is no more… sort of.
Speaker McCarthy’s quest to have her removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee has been completed.
He managed to get every Republican behind the move, even though there had been resistance.
Now the fun really starts.

There is no need for me to go over the many controversial statements that Omar has made, as you are all aware.
I believe McCarthy was very much correct in having her removed.
Omar, however, is pulling out all the cards on this one.
She stated, “I am Muslim, I am an immigrant, and interestingly, from Africa.
“Is anyone surprised that I am being targeted?
“Is anyone surprised that I am somehow deemed unworthy to speak about American foreign policy, or that they see me as a powerful voice that needs to be silenced?”

Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.) piled on, stating, “Why is this member being targeted today?
“Could it be the way that she looks? Could it be her religious practices?
“Because it’s clear if she were on the other side of the aisle, we would not be having this debate today.”
Well, if she was on the other side of the aisle, she would not be making anti-Semitic comments and trashing the United States.
